Food Safety and Standard Operating Procedures

Today another scare from China. Opiates in the food of unsuspecting customers.

We all know humans can contaminate food by touching, through illness and bad cleaning operating procedures and now food recipe changes with illegal substances.

Our strategy is to take a systems approach to check all along the process for non-conformance to operating procedures.

In our pouch division PGS all our machines fill and close pouches with hot and ultrasonic seals that protect the contents and if opened illegally the consumer can see it had been tampered with. We claim tamper evident and this is for sure the best claim.

Food fraud is starting to become a worry and our NFC tagz partnership with IZipline allied gif placing a tagz on the pouch that the consumer with their Android phone can read about the package and confirm the original item and contents.

It is also essential to have a strong cleaning regime and also microbiological checks that it works. Check before washing and after and compare results.

Finally record keeping, video of production and cleaning operations plus tons of photos keeps staff aware that no change in operating procedures are allowed.
